A seed pact links up to 4 WARDOGS communities that seed each other. Every partner can start free pact calls: they need no slot and only reach the partners through Discord and push. Once the server reaches 5 players with outside help, the call goes public. Each pact also gets a private channel on the seedmyserver Discord.
Seed pacts: fixed partner communities that seed each other
Last updated:
What a seed pact is and why
A seed pact is a fixed group of up to 4 communities that seed each other. Instead of hoping for random seeders on every call, you know who will come: the partners get your pact calls directly, and you help them in return.
Public seed calls share 2 slots. A pact call needs no slot and costs nothing. It gets the server to its first players; from 5 players it can go public, and every other seeder joins in.
Find partners
On the pact board, seed pacts whose founder community opted in introduce themselves: member communities, languages, region, requirements and figures seedmyserver calculates from counted seeds (members, active seeders, typical play time). Player names never appear there.
Contact runs through #pact-board on our Discord. The owner or an admin of the founder community shows your pact from the seed pact section of the dashboard with «Show on the pact board». Open the pact board
Create a pact and invite partners
- Create the pact — In the dashboard, open «Seed pact» at your community, enter a name (at most 40 characters) and click «Create seed pact». Your community is now the pact's founder.
- Create an invite link — Click «Create pact invite link». A link is valid for 7 days, at most 5 links can be active at once, and you can revoke any link.
- Let the partner accept — Send the link to the owner or an admin of the partner community. They sign in with Steam, choose their community and join.
- Start a pact call — When a server is below its start threshold, its owner, admin or caller clicks «Start pact call» in the dashboard. The partners are notified right away.
Requirements
- Owners and admins of a community create, join and leave pacts. Only the founder community creates invite links.
- Every community needs an approved, checked Verified server. A Flare server is not enough.
- At most 4 communities per pact, so you and up to 3 partners. A community is in at most one pact.
- Communities of the same owner cannot form a pact with each other.
The pact call
A pact call is free, needs no slot and does not appear in the public list, in #seed-calls or in push for others. It only reaches the partners:
- their own Discord, if they added a webhook, with their ping role (at most 3 pings per community and hour),
- browser push to their owners, admins and callers,
- the private pact channel on the seedmyserver Discord (see below).
Each server can have 2 pact calls a day, each community 3 across all its servers (calendar day, Swiss time). The cooldown and daily limit of public calls do not apply to private pact calls.
Seeders earn the same points as on a normal seed call. Seeds on the partners' servers earn your own community support credits. All rules
From pact call to public call
Automatically
A pact call turns into a normal public seed call by itself when all of this is true:
- It was opened with fewer than 5 players.
- The server has at least 5 players now.
- At least one seeder from another community, usually a partner, has joined since it opened.
- The normal limits pass: 30 minutes since the last public call, at most 3 public calls in 24 hours, and a slot is free.
The call stays free, the seeders keep their minutes, and it is now announced in #seed-calls and via push. If something does not apply, it keeps running as a pact call.
«Go public now»
You can make a pact call public yourself at any time. Then the normal seed call rules apply: limits, 10 support credits (refunded if nobody earns points) and a slot or the queue.
«End pact call»
Ends the pact call. The seeders keep their minutes. The call counts towards the daily pact call limit.
Private Discord channel and role
Every pact gets a role «Pact · name» and a private text channel #pact-name in the category PACTS on the seedmyserver Discord. That is where you coordinate, and every pact call is posted there with a ping of the pact role (at most 3 pings per hour). The dashboard links the channel at your pact.
- Owners of all pact communities get the role automatically.
- Admins and callers turn on «Show my community as a role in our Discord» on the Connections page.
- Plain members of the pact communities get no pact role, no pact calls and no pact push.
- Your Discord must be linked and you must be on the seedmyserver Discord. The role arrives within about 10 minutes.
- The seedmyserver moderators can see the channel too.
Leaving and dissolving
- Owners and admins can leave at any time with «Leave seed pact». Open pact calls of your servers end.
- The founder community can remove partners. If it leaves, the oldest remaining member becomes founder.
- When the last community leaves, the pact is dissolved. The pact channel's history is archived for the seedmyserver admins, then the channel and the role are removed.
FAQ
Does a pact call cost support credits?
No. A pact call is free and needs no slot, also when it goes public automatically. Only «Go public now» costs 10 support credits like any seed call (refunded if nobody earns points).
Do seeders earn points on a pact call?
Yes, the same points as on a normal seed call. Members' seeds on the partners' servers also earn their community support credits.
Can my community be in two pacts?
No, a community is in at most one seed pact. To join another pact, leave the current one first.
Why can't I see the pact channel on Discord?
Owners of the pact communities get access automatically. Admins and callers turn on «Show my community as a role in our Discord» on the Connections page; plain members get no access. Your Discord must be linked and you must be on the seedmyserver Discord. The role arrives within about 10 minutes.
Next step: add your server
Sign in with Steam, create a community, connect the server through Warcon. Then start your first seed call.
